An update on my attempts to put into practice geoff lawton's "chicken tractor on steroids". i'm still not 'there' but i'm definitely on the way. during our winter the chickens have been housed in one or both of our tunnel houses with extra area outside. the outside area is moveable so that they never run out of green grass/weeds to graze on.. My system where chickens help build compost right where it needs to be (the garden). inspired by harvey ussery’s compost corner and geoff lawton’s chicken tr.... 4/4/2014 3:15:20 am subject: geoff lawton's "chicken tractor on steroids" now live! i've begun to try out geoff's system with my 10 hens. i don't have a trailer but an easily moveable dome. i just prop up one side on something so the hens can get out. i tried electronet but they just walked through it so i then used some large netting with wind.
